It is believed that Henry's father, David Bennett served in the Revolutionary War and because of that, David was granted land near the Mississippi River by the U.S. Government. It is also believed that Henry inherited that land from his father and this is where he settled.
After Henry's death, it is believed that Henry's oldest son, Adam Jackson Bennett inherited that land. (Louisiana Law states that the oldest son would receive the "Lion's Share" of the father's wealth and possessions.)
