Ellen was born on December 7, 1926, in Dyer County, TN, to the late Joe Carter Alexander and the late Beulah White Alexander. She was the co-owner of Dyersburg Decorating Center. Ellen was an active member of First United Pentecostal Church, where she worshiped for 75 years. Dedicated her entire life to making sure her loved ones were happy, healthy, well fed and knew the Lord. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, February 17, 2020 at First United Pentecostal Church with Pastor Brent Rashall officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive visitors from 4:30-8 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Dyersburg Funeral Home and from 10:30-11 a.m. Monday at First United Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include her two daughters, Margaret Branham and Terri Patterson, both of Dyersburg, TN; a sister, Ann Snow of Hornlake, MS; four brothers, Clifton Alexander (Jean) of New Concord, KY, Arthur Alexander of Oneida, TN, Thomas Alexander (Elaine) of Springfield, MO and John Alexander (Myrna) of Hardy, AR; six grandchildren, Sherry Clark, Larry Neal Patterson, Kim Connell, Amy Palmer, Emily Palmer and Colin Jackson; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Dossie "D.W." Patterson; a son, Larry William Patterson; two brothers, J.C. Alexander and Hubert Alexander; two sisters, Norma Mattox and Rose Alexander; and a granddaughter, Melissa Clark.
