Cecil Ray Douglas, 89, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, died there on Wednesday, February 12, 2020. Doug or C.R. was born on October 3, 1930 to Thomas McCoy Douglas and Elma Irene Strube Douglas in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Edward McCoy “Dick” Douglas; his first wife, Dolores Brock Douglas; and second wife, Nanie Wolfe Douglas. He was in the Air Force as a young man and served in the military police. He was always interested in law enforcement. After he was discharged from the military, he became a well-respected member of the Oklahoma City Police Department and was also a member of the F.O.P. Lodge 123. He served our city for 20 years, from 1954 to 1974, before retiring. After retirement, he continued working as a security guard until his 2nd retirement from OG&E. he wrote poetry, and loved books so much that he often quoted Shakespeare. Cecil was survived by his daughter, Cynthia and husband Bernie 'Butch' Truman of Oklahoma City, a grandson, Jeremy Humphries and wife Amanda of North Carolina; and a God-grandson, Charles 'Chuck' Truman of Oklahoma City. His wife, Nan, preceded him while they lived in North Carolina, following his retirement. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, 21 February, at Sunny Lane Funeral Home, Del City, Oklahoma.
