EDWARD T. RUSH HOBART, IN Edward T. Rush, age 72, a longtime resident of Hobart since 1962, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2011. Edward was born on July 1, 1939 in Accident, MD, the son of Delone and Pearl Rush. On December 6, 1958, Edward married the love of his life Helen P. Selby and they enjoyed a marriage that lasted a few days shy of 50 years. Ed was retired from the Budd Company after 23 years of service. He then worked for the School City of Hobart and retired after 21 years of service. Ed was a member of M.L. McClelland Masonic Lodge # 357 F. & A.M. and was a faithful member of Augustana Lutheran Church. Ed is survived by his loving family; daughters: Connie (Larry) Tharp of Portage and Sandy (Larry) Cogdill of South Bend; grandchildren: Eric Tharp, Nicole Cogdill and Holly Tharp; sister, Joann (Allen) Hanft of Canton, OH; his lady friend, Carol Sohn of Hobart; several nieces and nephews; and other loving family and dear friends. Edward was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Helen P. Selby; and his brother, Warren Rush. A visitation for Edward Rush will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Rees Funeral Home–Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage. A Masonic service will be offered by M.L. McClelland Lodge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Rees Funeral Home. A funeral service for Edward Rush will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home–Olson Chapel with Reverend Charles Strietelmeier officiating.
