Michael Sequinne Bruner, 29, of Columbia passed away on January 27, 2020.
He was born in Columbia on July 3, 1990 to Anna “Marie” Bruner and Michael Patrick Douglas.
Mike had a big heart and always put everyone else before himself.
He also possessed a smile that could light up a room.
He had dreams of seeing the world and showing his girls it’s beauty.
Mike worked alongside some great people throughout the years including his father.
He worked for the City of Columbia, valet at the University, at A1 Containers with his dad, and as a delivery driver for Pizza Hut.
Michael married the love of his life Britney Baker on May 24, 2014 and shortly after they had their first daughter Ka’Leaha in May 2015. In October 2017, they welcomed their second daughter A’alyraha. Not long before the birth of A’alyraha, Michael became sick and the doctors discovered that his kidney started to fail again. Mike struggled with his health for quite a while because this was the second kidney transplant that he had undergone, but eventually things started to look up. On March 17, 2019, Mike was rushed to the hospital because he broke his knee and 6 months later ended up having double knee surgery. This surgery would cause him to start the recovery process yet again, but he was a fighter who never gave up and refused to let this keep him down.
Michael is survived by his loving wife Britney Bruner and two daughters Ka’Leaha and A’alyraha; his parents Anna Marie Bruner and Michael Patrick Douglas; three brothers: Kamen Hatton, Jack Glasgow, and Javante Crum; seven sisters: Ashley Hatton, Taria Douglas, Justice Crum, Brianna Hatton, Hayley Hatton, Jayden Crum-Douglas and Deraeh Kennedy; and two stepbrothers: Johnny Mosses and Mark Brooks. He is also survived by three nephews, three nieces, two goddaughters, three godsons, and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Deacon Ural Benton Powell, Clara Viola Gray-Douglas, Farris Herbert Bruner, and Lilla R. Bruner.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church 1707 Smiley Ln. Columbia, MO 65202, and will be immediately followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker-Millard Funeral Service and Crematory; 12 East Ash Street, Columbia, Missouri, 65203; (573) 449-4153.
