Kevin Reginald King, Sr., the son of the late Maurice Hudgins and the late Elizabeth King was born on January 29, 1964.

Kevin received his education from Indianapolis Public School 63 and School 75, and graduated from Arlington High School. He started his love for Law Enforcement as a Security Guard at Piccadilly’s then went on to complete his training with the Indianapolis Police Academy and completed Special Deputy Training with Marion University. He worked as a Marion County Sheriff, Lawrence Police and worked for the Indianapolis Colts for security at their training center and for the Owner of the Indianapolis Colts, Jim Irsay’s Estate, where he retired.

Kevin made many acquaintances throughout his life in the field of security, such as Elan Fur’s where they loved him so much that they took him off of security and taught him how to make fur coats and he helped the owner in many of their fur shows throughout the United States. Kevin was very involved in politics and work on many political campaigns and was a precinct committeeman for 11 years. Kevin loved to clean and detail his cars and was determined to reach his final goal after having many types of cars and trucks, but the final one was the HUMMER H2 SUT. Kevin loved to have a nice yard with green grass and beautiful flowers that welcomed his wife home with their beauty.

Kevin related with all people very well and his sense of humor always kept the party lively and full of laughter and sometimes suspenseful in not sure what he would blurt out and say something that should not be told. He loved bringing over all the nephews on many, many occasions to have a sleep overs then woke them all up earlier in the morning, just shortly after they had just had fallen to sleep from playing video games or watching T.V. to clean up the house, and do yard work outside and no one ever complained about it, because Uncle Kevin loved them so much and told them all the time how much.

Kevin accepted the hope in Christ at an early and was baptized at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where he went regularly as well as First Samuel. Kevin later was re-baptized at the Capitol City Seventh-day Adventist Church. Kevin had a great love for learning about Jesus and many of his special friends, such as Father Todd from St Monica’s Catholic Church and good friend, Steve Davis, whom Kevin loved him as his brother, supported his learning and love of Jesus Christ.

On February 22, 2001, Kevin was united in Holy Matrimony to Terri L Sherrod Dawson, who he affectionally called “T”. They made Indianapolis their earthly home and shared many wonderful years together and even through his sickness, their love for one another stayed strong.

Kevin Reginald King, Sr. departed this life on February 9, 2020, having been preceded in death by his parents, and stepmother Mary Hudgins and Brothers, Darvin King, William Hudgins, Steve Mitchell and Sisters Roseann Hudgins Herron, Sharon McFarland and Brother-in-law Andrew McMitchell.
