Joseph Eugene Reagan, 90, of Paxtang, passed away peacefully on Sunday February 9, 2020, at Messiah Village in Mechanicsburg.

He was born in Harrisburg, on September 29, 1929, a son of the late Patrick and Matilda (Schaedler) Reagan.

Joseph was raised in Steelton and was a graduate of Harrisburg Catholic High, Class of 1947.

He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering.

He served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1951-1954 in the Korean War as a radio operator, attaining the rank of Platoon Sergeant.

Joseph had a successful work career, including employment with the Martin Aircraft Co., Berger Associates, and BWB, Inc.

He was an original member of Holy Family Catholic Church where he served as an usher.

Joseph enjoyed gardening, home remodeling, fishing, Civil War history, big band music, family vacations at the seashore, cookouts at Pine Grove Furnace State Park, bowling, long walks and watching the Pitt Panthers and Steelers football.

He was dearly loved by his family and friends, and cherished being with them.

He was a kind, generous man, a loving husband and father with a great work ethic and he will be deeply missed by us all.

Joseph was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Phyllis (Janoscrat) Reagan, and by his three brothers Patrick, Richard and James Reagan (180224046).

Surviving are his three sons, Andrew J. of Paxtang, Joseph R. of Steelton and William E. of Downingtown; one daughter, Cecilia A. Johnson and her husband Richard of Wellsville; six grandchildren, Kathryn, Thomas (Slade), Emily, Nicholas, Benjamin and Patrick. He had many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 25th and Berryhill Streets, Harrisburg. Visitation will be at 10:30 AM prior to the Mass in the Church.

Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Harrisburg.
