Mr. Mitchell “Mitch” David Jackson, age 63, a resident of Columbia, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at his residence.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 5PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Keith Baker and David Jackson officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army.
Born on February 16, 1956 in Sumter, South Carolina, Mitch was the son of the late David Jackson and the late Dorothy Jones Jackson. He served in the United States Army and previously worked as a dental technician for Aspen Dental. Mitch was an excellent pool player. He enjoyed all sports and was an avid South Carolina Gamecocks fan. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Culberson Jackson; children: Hannah Jackson (Kevin Lessmiller) of Woodbury, TN, Stephanie Guilford of Florence, SC, Kenny (Amber) Jackson of Mullins, SC, Erica Brown (Randy Fitzgerald) of Columbia, Chad Dudley of Columbia; sister, Carolyn Drew of Goose Creek, SC; uncles: Gene Jackson and Larry Jackson; nine grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Jackson; and sisters, Shell Jackson and Glenda Hucks.
