Kimberly Dineen Hackney was born on September 27, 1965 in Norwalk, CT to the late Mary and Parks Harris, Jr. both of Baxley, GA. She entered into heaven’s gates on February 10, 2020.

Kim graduated from Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk, CT in 1983. She graduated with a degree in Computer Science from Sacred Heart University in 1986. She eventually accepted a position at Bigelow Tea before transitioning to Reed Exhibitions where she worked for over 20 years as a Help Desk Analyst and later retired in 2017.

A loving mother and woman of God, Kim was truly a remarkable person. As a devoted Christian for over 40 years, Kim was always ready to serve the Lord and her church. She was a dedicated Member of Miracle Temple COGIC under the Leadership of Bishop Joseph D. Clemmons. She served as a Missionary for over 25 years. She was an active member of the choir since childhood, often being featured as a soloist as well as leading praise and worship. She served on the Youth Outreach Evangelism Team, aka, (Miracle Temple God Squad) and as a Youth Bible Study Teacher. In February, 1998, she became a member of Cathedral of Praise COGIC Int’l under the Leadership of Archbishop John C White. For many years she served as a Missionary, Choir Member, and Director of the Media Department. Her faith in God allowed her to persevere through countless challenges she faced as a single mother raising two children.

Although she was busy raising two children, Kim valued giving back to her community so much, that she taught computer literacy classes at a local community center in Norwalk. She worked with the ACHIEVE enrichment program for over 10 years where she was a tutor. She often enjoyed spending time around family and friends and many would say her smile and laughter lit up the room. Traveling the world with her children Marcus and Yadira was a passion of hers, ensuring that every summer they had the opportunity to visit a different place and experience different cultures.

Kim leaves behind two loving children, Marcus Hackney of Hamden, CT and Yadira Hackney of Norwalk, CT; four sisters, Chyretta Robinson of Norwalk CT, Elder Patricia (Deac. Stevie) Burden of Bridgeport CT, Minister Mary Rose of Groton CT and Pamela (Albert) Thompson of Bridgeport CT; one brother, Parks III (Pat) Harris of Lynchburg VA; two nieces, Chaz (Darryl) Brackeen of New Haven, CT and Kizzie Brown of Norwalk, CT; two nephews, Conan Robinson of Norwalk, CT and Charles (Robbion) Brown, Jr. of Winston-Salem, NC; two great-nephews, Laron Burden and Niar Brown; gour great-nieces, Amirrah Burden, Charmae Brown, Chelsea Brackeen and Gabriella Brackeen; and a host of other loving relatives and close friends.
