Obituary of DONALD ALAN PARSONS:

Donald Alan Parsons, 65, of Walton passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at his home following a long illness.

Born January 4, 1955 in Walton, he was a son of Virginia Gray Parsons and the late Robert W. Parsons.

Donald loved spending time with his close family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He loved working outdoors in the fresh air, was an avid animal lover, looked forward each year to the Delaware County Fair and the tractor pulls and loved watching NASCAR and following his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
Donald was a longtime member of the Walton Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include his
son Ryan Parsons of Anderson, SC;
daughter Rebecca Parsons (Jamie Pomerantz) of Glen Spey, NY;
mother Virginia Parsons;
brother Jim Parsons (Sherry) of Bell Buckle, TN;
sisters Diane Marble (Tom) of Port Crane, NY,
Jane Ward (Mark) of Walton,
Susan Cahill (Garry) of Walton and Patricia Parsons of Walton;
grandchildren Ryan Parsons, Jr., Joseph Douglass, Makaela Parsons, Alayna Pomerantz and Jeremy Pomerantz and
one great grandson on the way, Ryan Parsons III.
Donald is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is predeceased by his father Robert W. Parsons and
his best friend Charlie Gregory.

Calling hours to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held on Friday, February 14, 2020 from 11-12 P.M. at Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton. A service to celebrate Donald’s life will follow at 12 P.M. at the funeral home with Bert More officiating.

Donald will be laid to rest at Walton Cemetery in the spring at a day and time to be announced.

Memorial donations in Donald’s memory may be made to the Walton Fire Department & Emergency Squad, 61 West Street, Walton, NY 13856 or to the Heart of the Catskills Humane Society, 46610 NY-10, Delhi, NY 13753.
