Funeral service for Marion Roy Westover, 61, life long resident of Ashley Valley, will be conducted Friday, July 21, in the Ashley LDS Ward Chapel. Burial will be in Vernal Memorial Park. Mr. Westover died Wednesday.
Born June 6, 1889, in Vernal, a son of Alfred Harvey and Jennie Elizabeth Allen Westover. Mr. Westover had been a prominent livestock and agriculture man in the valley all his life. Except for a brief span when he lived in Randlett, he has been a resident of Vernal. His father was the fifth white man to settle in Ashley Valley.
He married Hulda Viola Hardy, April 19, 1909. She died in 1940. He married Maud D. Lewis in December 1942.
Mr. Westover was an elder in the Ashley Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors besides his widow include two sons, Iral Westover, Montell, Nevada, and Kenneth H. Westover, Long Beach, California; two daughters, Viola Jensen, Randlett, and Lydia Church, Gardena, California; two sisters, Mrs. Richard Jensen and Mrs. Merrill Karren, Vernal; and a half-brother, Ira W. Beadows, Vernal.
