Ruth Eloise (Bufkin) Stevens, 95, of Boonville, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Transcendent Health Care, North in Boonville, Indiana. Ruth was born on February 2, 1925 in Boonville, Indiana to the late Cress and Nellie (McNeely) Bufkin.
Ruth proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. Ruth and her husband, Richard were both very active in the Boonville American Legion Post #200 and the Boonville Elks Club.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 40 years, Richard J. Stevens in 2008; daughter, Priscilla Dunbar in 2012; sisters, Mae Day, Esther Girdley; brothers, Edward Bufkin, Wilborn Bufkin, Russell Bufkin; step-daughter, Judy Estes.
Ruth is survived by her son, Reid Gisvold (Becky Brabender); son-in-law, Pat Dunbar; grandchildren, Brett Ausbrooks (Terah); Cameron Gisvold; step-children, Richard Stevens Jr. (Debbie Scott); Jed Stevens (Debbie); Jeffrey Stevens (Kim); several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 P.M. on Saturday, February 15, 2020 with Pastor John Wongler officiating. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville, Indiana with the Warrick County Veterans Memorial Services to conduct military honors.
