Gerald was born on December 18, 1935 in LaSalle, IL, the son of Harold and Cassie (Wiemken) Sullivan. He married JoAnne A. Asmussen on July 11, 1953 in Davenport. She preceded him in death on March 7, 2017.
Gerald worked as a tool and die maker at various machine shops in the Quad Cities area for over 30 years, retiring from J.I. Case in 1993. He was an Add avid fisherman and competitive shooter. He was a member of the Milan Rifle Club, Moose Lodge, Elks, the Quad Cities In-Fisherman's Club, Local #1 and UAW Local #1304. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his two sons: David and Steve Sullivan, both of Davenport and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, brother, Gene Sullivan and nephew John Sullivan.
Memorials may be made to King's Harvest Pet Rescue No Kill Shelter, Davenport.
