Irene Sparks Stewart, 87, of Richmond, passed away Monday, February 10, 2020 at Baptist Health-Richmond. She was the widow of Preston “Red” Stewart.

Mrs. Stewart was born on September 4, 1932 in Lee County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of Arthur and Delilah Hamilton Sparks, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a retired factory worker and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Stewart enjoyed shopping, boating, riding trains, and playing cards. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include: six daughters, Barbara Jean Miller (Steve), of Berea, KY, Dorothy Banfield, of Georgetown, KY, Brenda Greko, of Florida, Joyce Crain, of Maysville, KY, Charlene Hamm (Randy), of Flemingsburg, KY, and Chasity Lutz (Chris), of Florence, KY; four sons, Paul McMullen, of Columbus, OH, Jim McMullen (Lillie), of Cincinnati, OH, Brian Nagel (Laura), of Georgetown, KY, and Danny Stewart, of Middletown, OH; one sister, Carrie Tincher, of London, KY; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by: two sons, George Hall and Richard Stewart; one daughter, Earlene Earls; two brothers, Ballard Sparks and Adrian Sparks; and four sisters, Martha Sparks, Lynn Sparks, Jean Barker, and Bonnie Brook.

A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home in Richmond, KY. Burial will follow in the Martin Cemetery in Wallingford, KY. Everyone is invited to attend the graveside at approximately 3:00 p.m. Saturday.
