Joyce E. Perry, 72, of Lincoln, Nebraska passed away peacefully on February 7, 2020 at Tabitha in Crete.

Joyce was born in Beatrice on August 9, 1947. She attended and graduated from Beatrice high school.

She married Henry Paul Perry on June 15th, 1983 at St. John Lutheran Church.

Her life and careers were centered around the service to others. She was a waitress at Red Lobster in Lincoln, NE, Marshalls Truck Stop (T’s Truck Stop) Beatrice, NE, Runza, Beatrice, NE. She was deeply involved in politics and kept the senators on their game. She used her connections and “super powers” to lend aid to those in need. She always fought for the underdog and hated injustice.

Her talents included: writing country music and poetry, playing guitar, interior decorating, and making crafts to sell at her garage sales.

She was an amazing grandmother to 5 grandchildren and a great grandmother to 4 great grandchildren. She had many friends and many lives that she touched as a result of her desire to help others.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Henry Paul Perry of Lincoln NE; daughter, Rhonda Hotchkiss with granddaughter, Sierra Hotchkiss both of Lincoln NE; Tammy Lisec with husband Darrell of Crete, NE with grandsons, Alec Lisec of Elkhorn, Cole Lisec of Crete, NE; Son, Rodney Ulm with wife Jennifer Ulm; granddaughters, Ashley Scholz with husband Trevor, Nicole Cowell with husband Jacobee; brother, David Nicholson with wife Jackie of Lincoln; sisters, Carol Price with husband Wallace of Olathe, Kansas, Diane King with husband Rodney from Venice, FL, Teresa Langley with husband Tom of Beatrice, NE; sister-in-law, Angie Nicholson Sherrill of Lincoln, NE.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Rose Nicholson; brothers, Roger Nicholson (11/14/11), Jimmy (James) Dean (infant); sister-in-law, Jackie Nicholson; niece, Cheryl Beutler; great nephew, Zachary Joe Barrett.

There will not be a funeral service. We will have a celebration of life with a date pending.
