Minnie Ola Alexander married C. W. "Charlie" Oates on December 23, 1909, in Polk County, Texas. After Charlie's untimely death in 1916 at the age of 29 years, Minnie moved to Nolan County, Texas, with members of the Alexander Family. Minnie married her first cousin, Henry Alexander, on December 11, 1921, in Nolan County.

MRS. ALEXANDER RITES THURSDAY

Final rites for Mrs. Minnie Ola Alexander, 74, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Blackburn-Shaw Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jesse P. Kirkland, pastor of the United Pentecostal Church, officiating. Mrs. Alexander was mother of Amarillo police chief Wiley C. Alexander.
Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.
Mrs. Alexander, widow of H. C. Alexander, died at 9 a.m. Tuesday at her home, 309 Houston St.
She was born July 21, 1887, in Livingston, Tex., and was married to Mr. Alexander in Sweetwater in 1921. Mr. Alexander died in 1956 in Amarillo.
Mrs. Alexander had been an Amarillo resident 36 years.
Surviving are three sons, Police Chief Alexander and W. D. Oates of Amarillo and C. A. Oates of Cheyenne, Wyo.; a daughter, Mrs. A. W. Palmer of San Diego, Calif.; three stepsons, J. W. Alexander of Colorado Springs, Colo., J. H. Alexander of Los Angeles, and I. E. Alexander of Houston; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Dillon of Amarillo and Mrs. Kate Bonds of Livingston; three brothers, Wiley Alexander of De Leon, Tex., Bill Alexander of Jonesboro, Tex., and Jim Alexander of Livingston; 23 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
