Sherry Lynn Willis, age 62, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020 at her home.
Sherry was born December 23, 1957 to Harry "Jack" and Joan (Keen) Mandrell in Mount Vernon, Illinois. She married Bill Willis on June 10, 1983. They were blessed with thirty-six years of marriage.
In addition to her husband, Sherry is survived by her daughters, Katie and husband, Nick of Mount Vernon, Illinois and Julianne and husband, Ross of Mount Vernon, Illinois; grandchildren; mother, Joan Mandrell of Woodlawn, Illinois; siblings, S. Mandrell and wife, P. of Waltonville, Illinois, S. Mandrell and wife, G. of Woodlawn, Illinois, S. Mandrell of Chicago, Illinois, and Sue and husband, Jim of Lewisberg, Tennessee; in-laws, Jack and Carol Willis of Mount Vernon, Illinois; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.
Sherry was preceded in death by her father, Harry "Jack" Mandrell.
Mrs. Willis was a beloved kindergarten teacher at Woodlawn Grade School for thirty-three years. Sherry's passion for teaching was reflected in her ability to make each and every student feel special.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2020 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Private Family Funeral Service will be held. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois.
