MORTON - Audrey O. Wood passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Apostolic Christian Restmoor in Morton, IL.
There will be a funeral service for Audrey on Thursday February 13, 2020 at 1 PM at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington. Reverend Justin Iverson will officiate. There will be a visitation from 11:30 AM to 1 PM that day the memorial home. Interment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bloomington.
Audrey was born December 19, 1929 in Bluford, IL to Archie and Mary Kirkpatrick Cameron.
She graduated from Bluford Township High School and married Walter M. Wood in 1949. Shortly after getting married they moved to Bloomington-Normal where she lived, worked and raised her family.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Myra and a brother, Darrell.
She is survived by her children, Karen and Marvin and two nephews.
Audrey worked for State Farm in 1950 until her first child arrived. She also worked at the Pantagraph from 1974-1976 and Mclean County Abstract from 1976-1988. Audrey was a member of Park United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for 3 year olds for many years. Audrey was a collector of anything with a redbird on it and accumulated a large collection of items. She also enjoyed reading, knitting and baking. It was a tradition for her to give friends and family plates of homemade goodies during the holidays and was especially known for her peanut brittle.
Memorials can be made in her memory to The Baby Fold, Normal, IL; Midwest Food Bank or Apostolic Christion Restmor, Morton, IL.
