Pioneer of San Gabriel Dies on Tuesday, Jan. 17

Funeral services of Mrs. J. H. Fulcher of San Gabriel, who died Tuesday, January 17, were held in the old Locklin cemetery near San Gabriel Wednesday. Mrs. Fulcher, who was 78 years old at the time of her death, was a native of Milam county, and she lived and died within one mile of her birthplace. She was the widow of the late Judge J. H. Fulcher and the daughter of Bill Locklin, deceased, pioneer Indian fighter.
Her home was near Fulcher Bluff, where Peter Mercer, and early settler of this county, was killed by Indians, and she was buried in the old Locklin cemetery where Mercer was the first person buried.
Several children survive Mrs. Fulcher.---Cameron Enterprise.
