Obituary for Mrs. Nora Chilton Crawford
Nora Chilton Crawford, age 79, passed away on Friday, February 7th, 2020 in Oxford, MS. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 11,2020 from 1:00 until service time beginning 2:00 p.m. at Marks Presbyterian Church. Interment to follow in Marks Cemetery.
Nora was born on October 23, 1940 in Wayne County, Missouri to Thelma and Earl Chilton. Nora attended high school in Elaine, Arkansas and married W.A. Crawford in 1958. In 1962 they moved to Quitman County where Nora was a homemaker and W.A. farmed. Throughout her lifetime, Nora was an avid traveler and gardener. She was also a talented artist and cook. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her mother, Thelma Brewington Murphy of Russellville, Arkansas; a sister, Linda (Tommy) Tyler of Russellville, AR; two sons Chris (Angie) Crawford of Lambert, MS and Ray (Jessica) Crawford of Lambert, MS, and two grandsons Chandler and Hayden Crawford both of Marks, MS; a granddaughter, Caroline Crawford of Lambert, MS; two nephews Tad Tyler of Fayetteville, AR and Aaron Tyler of Highlands Ranch,CO. Nora was preceded in death by her father, Earl Chilton and her husband W. A. Crawford.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to the Marks Presbyterian Church Flower Fund
