On Monday, November 22, 2004, Momma, Kathleen R. "Granny" Cash, 86, of Waynesboro went home to be with the Lord. She was born July 17, 1918 in Waynesboro, a daughter of the late Edward T. Ross and Bertha M. Ross. She was a member of Free Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Finley M. Cash; her son Paul A. Cash; her son-in-law, Tommy Fix; two sisters Mary Margaret Pennington and Virginia Gums. She is survived by three sons Donald Ross, Sr. of Waynesboro, Finley Cash Jr. and his wife Glenna of Waynesboro and James Cash and his wife Margie of Fort Defiance; two daughters, Dee Dunn and her husband Jerry of Waynesboro and Melinda "Lynn" Fix of Waynesboro; a brother James A. Ross and his wife Katie of Hampton, VA; a special granddaughter, Shannon L. Walter, whom she raised as her own; twenty grandchildren, Teddy Ross, Donald Ross, Jr., Troy Ross, David Price, Jason Dunn, James Dunn, Nannette Leigh Lowe, Edward R. Cash, Chad Cash, Shannon Walter, Penni Maybush, Jerri Cash, David Cash, Tony Cash, Dawn Huffer, Kimberly Cash, Susie Cash, Tim Scarborough, Michael Lamb and Christie Fisher; nineteen great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her special daughters-in-law Peggy Ross and Crystal Cash; her special caretaker Lydia Dalton; special friends Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Fix, Sylvia and Tom Breeden, Demetra "Helen" Turner, Patsy Marsh, Dennis Bradley, Nancy Cash, Betty Rexrode, Bob Rodgers, Jessie O`Leary, Charlie Herron, Goldie Bowers; the ladies at the Free Methodist Church; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and her pet bird "Brooklyn". Services will be held at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2004 with the Rev. Merle Fisher, the Rev. Dennis Bradley and the Rev. Rex Batten officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Teddy Ross, Jason Dunn, Donald Ross, Jr., Richard Lowrey, Robert Maybush and Chad Cash. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Breeden, Warren Cash, Herbert Fix, Jessie O`Leary, Charles Herron and Ronnie Hahn. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 23, 2004. Following the service the family will gather at the home of her daughter, Lynn Fix, 109 Beagle Gap Road, Waynesboro.
