Ruby was the daughter of Virginia Lee Bowler Austin Barlow Cornwall and John Hogeboon Cornwall. Her father had mental issues and his family had him committed to Mount Hope Retreat, Maryland, in 1910, where he lived until his death in 1931. News articles suggest the marriage was dissolved but her mother never remarried. She was raised solely by her mother, Virginia. Ruby was the only child of this marriage but had 6 older half siblings. They were Earl (1891-1974), William (1892-1936), Delancy (1895-1935), Herman (1898-1964), Josephine Austin (1900-1976) (children of Virginia Bowler and Delancy Austin, Sr) and Leonard Barlow (1905-1919 son of John F Barlow). In 1926 Ruby marries Taylor Wiley Wooldridge. She is 16 and he is 32. They have two children, Harold Edward and Phyllis Maybell Juanita before Taylor dies in 1930. At this time city directories show she moves back with her mother in 1931-1932. Ruby marries James Coley Stone in 1933 and they divorce 12 yrs later. There are no children from this marriage. James Hunter Lanier & Ruby marry very briefly in 1947 & divorce. (It is my understanding she choose not to legally change her name again. That explains "Stone" on her headstone.) Ruby died in 1993 and is buried in a family plot at Oakwood. Next to her is Stuart Homer Henley, died 1991. They have matching headstones and the family plot is transferred on June 26, 1952 from Mrs J F Barlow (Ruby's mother) to Mrs Ruby L Henley . There is a son, Bobby Wayne Henley, 1953-2008, and Ruby is listed as mother on Bobby's marriage and death certificates but I have not found any documents as to a marriage for Ruby and Stuart. I do think they married but as stated earlier, I was told Ruby did not legally change her name again after "Stone".
