LACONIA - Clifton E. Higgins, 77, of 19 Bowman Street, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia, on Saturday, July 24, 2004. Mr. Higgins was born on March 4, 1927, the son of Joseph and Cora (Bracy) Higgins. He served in the United States Army for several years. He worked as a Janitor for Beede Electric in Penacook and for Laconia Shoe. Survivors include seven sons, Kenneth Higgins and Ralph Higgins, both of Laconia, Roger Higgins of Concord, George Higgins of Tennessee, Shawn Higgins of Vermont, Robert Smith of Maine and Wesley Sorrell of Tilton; four daughters, Yvonne Higgins of Franklin, Robin King and Ramona Smith, both of Maine and Kathleen Riel of Penacook; four sisters, June Smith of Belmont, Marilyn Lemay of Laconia, Doris Davis of California and Gail Stockbridge of Gilmanton; fifteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a son, Danny Sorrell; and by a brother, Ronald Higgins. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at 3:00 pm at Bayside Cemetery, Laconia.
