Edward E. Dillard (Chick), 54, of Bronx, New York departed this life Monday, October 16, 2006 due to a vehicle accident. He was born December 24, 1951, the son of Mary Diggs Dillard and the late Carrington Dillard. He was preceded in death by one sister, Gloria Goodwin and one brother, William Dillard. Mr. Dillard worked construction prior to his disability. In addition to his mother, survivors include one daughter, Alicia Purvis of Bronx, NY; two grandchildren Tyreke F. Barajona and Tierra M. Gumbs, both of Bronx, NY; two sisters, Earsline Carter and her husband James and Barbara Ford and her husband Allen both of Waynesboro; three brothers, Donald Dillard and his wife Ann, Allen Dillard and Michael Dillard, all of Waynesboro; nephew, Alphonso Dillard of Waynesboro; special friend, Jennifer Moore of Waynesboro; friend, Judy Purvis of New York, as well as a number aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home. Friends may be received at the home of his mother at any time of 1309 E. Main St., Waynesboro. A service will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, October 21, 2006 at Shiloh Baptist Church by Pastor Phillip A. Carter and Minister Mildred White. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Stanley Jackson, Jimmy Miller, Joe Howard, Roger Clark and relatives and friends attending the service. Reynolds Funeral Service of Waynesboro is serving the family.
