Rebecca Ann Brooks Hite went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at Augusta Medical Center after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on June 3, 1943 to the late Russell Lee and Catherine Landes Brooks in Waynesboro, Virginia. She was the loving widow of Benjamin C. Hite, Jr., who preceded her in death on November 24, 2006. In addition to her parents she was also preceded by three brothers and three sisters. Rebecca was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Waynesboro Moose Lodge. She is survived by two sons; Petey Stockman of Waynesboro, David Rowe of Stuarts Draft, two daughters; Sue Adams of Crimora and Cindy Craig of Waynesboro; seven grandchildren, Justin, Cory, Kelli, Jennifer, T.J., Brittany, and Brandon and one great-grandchild, Isaiah. She is also survived by a brother Denny Brooks and his wife Deborah; four sisters, Cleva Rexrode of Staunton, Elva Campbell and her husband Cecil of Waynesboro, Joyce B. Lee of Mt. Juliet, TN and Doris Bartley of Waynesboro; a special brother-in-law Gary Hite and his wife Suzie and a number of nieces and nephews. She leaves behind many friends including, Tippy and Ducky Leavell, Mike and Barbara Fitzgerald and Rudy and Susie Landis. Pallbearers will be Jake Wakefield, Gary Hite, Rudy Landis, Mike Fitzgerald, Charles Leavell and Cecil Campbell, Sr. Honorary Pallbearers will be her brother, Denny Brooks and nieces and nephews attending the service. Services will be conducted by Pastor William Cole in the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Funeral Service at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 13, 2007 with interment following at Riverview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, January 12, 2007 at the funeral home and other times at her residence Memorial donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 152 S.
