Inez Stephenson Wilson, 96, of Raleigh, died on February 8, 2018. She was born in Angier, NC on May 7, 1921, daughter of N.V. and Vera Stephenson, and one of ten children.
Inez was a graduate of East Carolina University. She worked as a dietician for over forty years, most notably at Wake Med as head dietician. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church for over fifty years.
Inez enjoyed many things, especially quilting, earning herself awards for her handiwork. She also enjoyed gardening, the blue birds that would visit her yard, traveling with her husband, and dancing. She also loved to cook, bake and entertain for her family and friends.
Inez is survived by her three sons, John Wilson, III and wife, Kelly, Robert Wilson and wife, Ellen, and David Wilson and wife, Cheryl; grandchildren, Karen, Zack, Megan (Mike), Kaden, Brandon and Corey; great grandchildren, Michael and Emma Kate; sister, Javain Griffis; and brothers, Dwight Stephenson (Eloise), Bobby Stephenson (Loretta) and Neil Stephenson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Franklin Wilson, Jr., her parents, N.V. and Vera Weeks Stephenson; four sisters and their spouses, Sarah Dupree (Tallie), Lucille Scheller (John), Ruth Harvell (James) and Betty Denning (Max); infant brother Sherley David Stephenson; brother and his spouse, N.V. Stephenson, Jr. (Rachel); and siblings-in-law, Joe, Tom and Martha.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 13 from 1:00-2:00pm at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2723 Clark Avenue in Raleigh, followed by the service at 2:00pm. Interment will take place at Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church or Transitions LifeCare, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
