The death of Samuel Basham, aged 56 years, took place at the residence of Mrs. Brown (deceased's mother-in-law), at Wilberforce, on Monday night. The deceased was an orchardist at Gundagai, and came to the district about Xmas time to spend a holiday with Mrs. Brown. He was seized with illness immediately on his arrival. Some years ago he was a resident of the district, but had not been here for 16 years. He leaves a widow and a grown-up family of 4 — three daughters and one son. The remains were interred in the C. E. cemetery Wilberforce on Wednesday. The Rev. T. H. Taylor conducted the burial service, and Mr. J. W. Chandler, of Windsor, was the undertaker.
