Debra Jean Ward, 66, homemaker and resident of Claremore, passed away Friday, February 7, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born Monday, May 5, 1953 to Delmer and Betty (Carpenter) Hignite in Sterling, Colorado.

DEBRA'S OBITUARY
Debra Jean Ward age 66 passed away peacefully Friday February 7, 2020 surrounded by family and friends. She was born May 25,1953 in Sterling Colorado. Shortly after Debby was born, she and her family moved to Tulsa where she later graduated from Daniel Webster High School. It was at church where she met the love of her life, Cletis “Roger” Ward. They married June 11,1971. Debby and Roger made their home in Claremore, Oklahoma where they raised their children Roger Ward Jr., ReVonda Jean Ward, and Damon DeShayne Ward. Debby and Roger frequently hosted family events to share their love of family and friends. Their annual fourth of July events will always be remembered as a time of joy and fun. Debby had a wonderful sense of humor and could light up a room with her smile. She never met a stranger and had a unique way of making everyone feel at ease and loved. Debby enjoyed making special memories with her six grandchildren, who lovingly called her Mimi. Debby’s hobbies included spending time with family and friends, scrap booking, and participating in the Red Hat Society events. Debby loved unconditionally and took great pride in being a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Debby is preceded in death by her father Delmer Hignite, her husband Roger Ward, and Roger’s parents, Cletis and Edith Ward. She is survived by her mother Betty Lou Hignite of Claremore. Her children Roger Ward, Kevin Gaylor, and Don Lawrence of Sand Springs, ReVonda and Ronnie Hicks of Claremore, Damon Ward, Kesha Seim, and Brandi Ward of Claremore. Grandchildren Brock and Trenton Hicks, Shayne, Seth, Zayne, and Aurora Ward all of Claremore. Sisters Belinda Kay Hendrick of Broken Arrow, Karen Lynn Hignite of Grand Lake, brother Timothy Wayne Hignite of Bristow and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Debby’s life will be held Wednesday, February 12 4:00-6:00 p.m. at The Elks Lodge 1820 Summit Drive Claremore, Oklahoma 74019.
