Allen Barnes, 63, died July 7, 2007, at the Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma City.
He was born Aug. 22, 1943, in Harrisonville, the son of William and Rosa Mae (Creager) Barnes.
Mr. Barnes grew up and attended schools in Harrisonville. He served in the United States Army for two years.
After completing his tour of duty in the service, Aug. 26, 1967, he married Marion Wisely in Sheldon.
The two entered business as Sonic Franchise owners and were involved with the company for more than 30 years.
Mr. Barnes was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Scottish-Rite, the Shriner's, the Eagles, the Nowata Country Club and the "Windsor Bunch." He enjoyed golfing and was a huge Kansas City Chiefs fan.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and a sister, Sybil Coke.
Services were July 11 in the Living Word Family Church.
Burial was in the Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Benjamin Funeral Home of Nowata.
