Major League Baseball Player. For seven seasons (1996 to 2002), he played at the outfielder and first baseman positions with the Colorado Rockies, Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs. Born Angel Santos Eehevarria, he made his initial impact on the baseball diamond during his years at Bassick High School in Connecticut and went on to play collegiate baseball at Rutgers University where he became one of the program's all time great hitters. Selected by the Colorado Rockies during the 17 round of the June MLB Amateur Draft, he made his Major League debut on July 15, 1996. In 1999, he produced career highs with 56 hits, 11 home runs and 35 runs driven in. In 328 career regular season games, he compiled 152 hits with a .280 lifetime batting average. After retiring as a player, he operated a baseball clinic for youths.
