On last Wednesday, 6th, the sad message was spread to the village and community that Mrs. Billy Barclay was dead. We have expected this message for a long time, to the announced at any hour but as it is of any friend, it still gives a shock, as a fact. She has been in failing health for several years and confined indoor, often to bed, for the past six or eight months. But when the journal of life closes with its leaves well writ and looking back over its record and no fault to be found, death is not a tragedy. Mrs. Barclay's life ended thusly and fifty-two years of her life had been spent in service for her Master. She was a good neighbor, true friend and a loving kind mother. Heaven is richer by her having gone there and it was to such as she that Jesus said: "I go to prepare a place for you." Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Roberts of Cameron at the Christian church. With tender hands we laid her gently to rest in Locklin cemetery on Thursday afternoon, under a mound of beautiful flowers. To her four children who mourn her loss we extend our greatest sympathy.

Note: Considering the date of publication of the above death/funeral notice and in checking the 1919 calendar to compare dates for the 6th day of the previous months falling on a Wednesday, it can be determined that Arrelia Emeline Lively Barclay died on Wednesday, August 6, 1919, as September 6th was on a Saturday. The news was likely received in September but not published until Oct, but the term/word "last" translating to be the previous month of news being August.
