Misty was born in Knoxville, Iowa to Paula (Heck) Smith and Merrill Neer. She grew up in Melcher- Dallas and Knovxille. Misty met the love of her life, Keith Peters in 2006 and married in 2009. They made their home in Avon Lake, her pride and comfort. She spend most of her time gardening and doing small projects around her home and yard, when she wasn't catching great deals garage selling and shopping. Misty had many hobbies beside a green thumb. She loved photography and reading the newest novels by Stephen King. Misty had two dogs that she loved dearly named Zoey and Ellie. Her favorite flowers were red roses and lilies.
Misty graduated from Indian Hills Community College with her Associates of Arts and Sciences in 1999. She then furthered her education achieving her Bachelors in Psychology in 2001. This granted her the opportunity to become a fraud investigator for Iowa Medicaid-IBM.
Misty is survived by her husband, Keith Peters of Avon Lake. Children: Shawn Gerdom and his wife Melissa Gerdom and their daughters Mataya and Naomi. Daughter Skylee Gerdom and her fiance Joesph Mathews , their children Logan, Skylyn, and Avalee. Son Nathaniel Gerdom and his daughter Amory. And son Anthony Gerdom. Her siblings Ryan Garbe, Sarah Grove, Ryan Neer and Jennifer Crowe. Parents Paula and Gary Smith and Lorna Neer.
