Graveside Service for Robert Carnes, age 84 of Elgin, NE will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Oakdale Cemetery.

Robert passed away at his home on August 31, 2019.

Robert Lee Carnes was born on September 26, 1934 to Sterling and Hilda (Bickford) Carnes at Pilger, NE. He grew up in Omaha and attended school in Omaha.

On January 21, 1957 he enlisted in the United States Army in Omaha and was honorably discharged on October 21, 1957 at Oakland, CA.

On March 24, 1969 he was united in marriage to Donna Case at Miami, OK. They celebrated 50 years together.

He farmed at Ft. Calhoun and painted with his brother, Stanley. They move to Carroll to farm until moving to their acreage where they live now. Robert enjoyed spending time with family, vacations, hunting, and fishing.

Survived by his wife, Donna of Elgin. Children: Alice (Jeff) Sweazy of Bloomfield, NE; Robert (Nicole) Carnes of Battle Creek, NE; Billy Carnes of Elgin, NE. 8 Grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Sister-in-law, Betty Carnes of Blair, NE.

Preceded in death by his parents. Brothers, Stanley and Melvin. Sisters, Mary and Joy.
