Burl's first wife Clarissa Ellis married Floyd Musick in 1887 and died in Matewan, Mingo County, WV in 1895 burial location is unknown. Burl left Logan County, WV after 1916 and lived the remainer of his life at Meador/Newtown, Mingo County, WV with his wife Lydia. He died sometime after 1940. Originally he was buried at Little Thacker, Pie, Mingo County, WV but was later relocated to Lenore Memorial Gardens, Lenore, Mingo County, WV due to mining operations in the Pie, WV area.
