He laid out Bell Park plan in Columbiana and was working on the Agnew plat across from Sheet & Tube offices in Boardman for the Ralph Hartenstein Co. , where he had been employed for the last five years. He was a member of Pleasant Grove United Presbyterian Church.
Besides his wife, the former Emily E. Strouss, whom he married in 1899, he leaves three sons, Robert S. in Los Angeles, Norwood N. and John A. MacDonald, in Youngstown; a daughter, Mrs Bettie Sitler of Prescott, AZ; a brother, William of Canton; three sisters, Mrs Maria Reed and Mrs Ida Campbell in Beaver, PA, and Mrs Bessie Calhoun of Georgetown, PA.
