She was born on April 23, 1927, in Coleman, the daughter of Albert and Verda (Haines) Arnold. Ruth M. Arnold married Walter A. Bills in Coleman on May 30, 1946. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing in church. She was active in missionary outreach and was involved in many church activities. Ruth had taught piano and organ lessons for
over 40 years.
She was the devoted wife of Walter Bills of Coleman; the loving mother of Jackie and Glen Higgins of Rosebush, Audrey and Gerold Brady of Harrison, Doreen and Jerry Ranck of Livonia, Alan and Becky Bills of Coleman and Ann and Dean Doherty
of Clare; the adoring grandmother of 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; sister of Arthell and Ken Haggerty of Coleman, Pauline and Clifford Roman of Coleman and Helena Jean and George Adams
of Burns, Tenn. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Clarence Arnold; and her sisters, Verna Ann Arnold, Kathryn Sayers and Lenora Mae Waite.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, March 2, 2007, at the Church of the Nazarene in Beaverton with the Rev. Mark Moore officiating. Burial will take place at the Warren Township Cemetery, Coleman, 2:30 p.m., Friday.
Friends may call at the O'Laughlin Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. and at the church on Friday starting at 10 a.m. until the time of the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Church of the Nazarene or MidMichigan Hospice.
