Rebecca Fern Ray, 73, of Herrin, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2020, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 8, 2020, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, with her close friend, Lee Ann officiating.
Burial will be in Herrin City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday.

Rebecca was born April 4, 1946, in St. Louis, to Samuel Ward and Lenora (Hyatt) Carter.
She married David Ray and he preceded her in death in 1995.

She is survived by her sons, T. (K.) Ray and S. Ray; daughters, Christina, Sharlene, and Darlene; sister, Ramona; brothers, S. Carter, Jeff, and Joseph; grandchildren; special friends, Lee Ann (Angie), Doretta, and all of Tim's friends; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and her beloved cat, Mama Kitty.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

She was an animal lover, especially cats.
