83, 20-Apr, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel.∼Peggy Ann "Bling Bling" Brooks, 83, gained her wings on Saturday, April 20, 2019, at St's. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. She was born in Topeka, Kansas to MacNeil Oden who married Roberta Plumb.
Peggy was a faithful member of Meadowlawn Baptist Church and sang in the choir, was a trustee and belong to the missionary auxiliary. She always had a flair for music and sometimes played the piano and organ as she grew up. With her husband being in the military, Peggy was fortunate to be able to travel many places, including Alaska, Japan, Hawaii and taking cruises. Peggy was a librarian at Sun Valley Library in Valley Station for 30 years and had a great love of reading and listening to jazz music.
She was preceded in death by her parents, MacNeil and Roberta Oden and her second husband, George Brooks.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Donella Allen; grandchildren, Courtney Reed-Adkins, Christopher L. (Rita Swartwood) Allen, Shawnta D. (Johnathon Berry) Allen and Donta A. Allen; great grandchildren, Dezire', Olivia Attikus, Cameron and Dallas; brother; Don Oden; niece, Cynthia Oden; nephew, Don Christopher Oden; cousins, Amber Plumb and Barbara Jean and a host of friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 27, 2019, at Meadowlawn Baptist Church, 12103 E. Orell Road, Louisville, KY, from 11am-1pm with a celebration of Peggy's life beginning at 1pm.
