On February 4, 2020, Charles (Chuck) P. Ledbetter was received into the arms of Jesus. Charles was born in Yazoo County, Mississippi on August 30, 1942. He graduated from Benton High School in 1961. He was employed at First Chemical Corporation/Dupont for 38 years where he was Plant Superintendent. He served in the Army during Vietnam where he received a Purple Heart. He was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church for 31 years where he held several offices. Chuck served as a member of the Purple Heart Chapter of Pascagoula, Mississippi. Also, he was a former member of the Gideons. Additionally, he served as a life time member of the National Rifle Association.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Rachel Rogers Ledbetter and his father, David W. Ledbetter, Sr.; sister Donna Nesbitt Williams, and nephew, Zayne Rankin.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Paula Ledbetter; his children, Charles Andrew Ledbetter (Shelley), Lowell Frederic (Rick) Ledbetter, Alisa Ledbetter Williamson (Phil), Laura Michelle Blakeney Taylor (David), Leslie Hope Blakeney O’Brien (David), and Garry Dale Blakeney, Jr.; brothers, David W. Ledbetter, Jr. (Kathy), John Andrew Ledbetter (Linda); sisters, Davie Lois Rankin, Amy Kathleen Shirley (Jim), Millicent Francis Ledbetter; grandchildren, Robert S. McCary, Jr.(Christyn), Ryan T. McCary, Blakeney E. O’Brien, Anna Leigh O’Brien, Olivia Williamson Anderson (Finton), Samantha Williamson Giles (Cody), Brian Ledbetter, Logan Ledbetter, and Lowell Ledbetter; and several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 6, 2020, 3:00-5:00pm, at Woodlawn Baptist Church in Pascagoula. Funeral Service will begin at 5:00pm with Rev. Sidney Davis officiating. The pallbearers will be Robert S. McCary, Jr., Ryan T. McCary, Logan Ledbetter, Brian Ledbetter, Blair Rankin, and Jay Nesbitt.
A Committal Service will be Friday, February 7, 2020, 11:00am, at Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors.
