He was the devoted husband of Rhonda (Brown) Brandt, with whom he was inseparable; the loving father of two daughters, Katherine (Alexander) Schultz, of Fishers, Indiana; and Jessica Brandt of Indianapolis; and the grandfather of Ronin Schultz, who adored his “Papa” and brought immense joy to the home over the past year.
Mark graduated from North Central High School in Indianapolis in 1982 and graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor’s Degree of Applied Science in Computer Technology. He was an Air Force veteran, where he operated mainframe computer systems, and brought these skills to Liberty Mutual Insurance where he served as a Sr. Software Engineer. Aside from life with his family, Mark’s passion was modifying Jeeps for off-road competition. He thrived on the adventure and camaraderie with his friends who shared his love and talent for hands-on mechanical involvement.
Mark and his family are members of Cornerstone Lutheran Church in Carmel.
Mark is survived by his parents, John and Sue; his wife, Rhonda; daughters Kate and Jessica; grandson Ronin; brothers John (Lisa) Brandt, also of Carmel, and Michael (Nancy) Brandt, of Shoreview, Minnesota; and nieces Kellis, Gabriele, Madison, Leah, and Isabel Brandt.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Anne and Henry Brandt and Eleanor and Leslie Dickens.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 11 at Cornerstone Lutheran Church in Carmel, Indiana. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a memorial service immediately following at 1 p.m.
