Judith Ann Bozeman Hall-Henry “Tinsy”, the third child of Mary Elizabeth Huddleston Dade and John Bozeman, was born on May 30, 1947, at Homer G Phillips Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Tinsy’s mother, father, four sisters, one brother, two husbands and two nephews all preceded her into another life in time.
At a young age, she was a member of Antioch Baptist Church under the late Rev. James E. Cook. During this time, she looked forward to spending summers at Camp Rivercliff where she learned how to swim. Also, during this time, she and her siblings traveled to Nashville, Tennessee to spend time with her favorite aunt, Mary Juventa Dismukes, whom she affectionally called Aunt Mamie.
Tinsy was educated in the St. Louis Public School system. She attended Simmons Elementary, Turner Middle and Charles Sumner High School. According to her high school transcripts, she was a member of the school’s bowling league. She transferred to Beaumont High School in 1965 and received her high school diploma in 1966.
On January 6, 1968, she married Eric Nelson A. Hall in a small ceremony officiated by Rev. Lumpkins. Together, they had four children: Daphne Marie, Lucretia Renee, Erica Tremaine, and Jennifer Monique.
In August 1977, Tinsy received her Associate’s Degree in Applied Science from St. Louis Community College at Meramec and also became a Certified Legal Secretary. She entered the legal field and began working at law firms around the St. Louis area, including Montgomery, Hollie and Associates under the late Mrs. Frankie M. Freeman and most notably, Levin, Buchholz, and O’Driscoll, P.C. in Clayton, Missouri. She continued to work throughout her life until her retirement from the Internal Revenue Service in 2009.
On August 2, 1991, Tinsy re-married her childhood friend, Edward C. Henry (Tootie). Throughout their marriage, they enjoyed each other’s company – discussing newsworthy topics, playing Scrabble, working crossword puzzles, watching sports games, walking D.O.G and attending Bozeman family reunions. Tinsy was instrumental in the inception of the Bozeman family reunions. The idea was conceived at her home on September 11, 1977, with the families of Burl & Coley Bozeman.
On July 24, 2015, Tootie lost his one and only big fight and joined his parents and siblings in their neighborhood.
Tinsy continued to travel with her best friend, Frances Hughes (affectionally called Grandma Aunt Franny).
In July 2018, Tinsy was diagnosed with Stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer and began chemotherapy treatment. She maintained a positive attitude despite her diagnoses and again, continued to travel.
On January 22, 2020, she lost her one and only big fight and joined her parents and siblings in their neighborhood. In this neighborhood, she left – 5 daughters: Daphne, Lucretia, Erica and Jennifer of St. Louis, Missouri; Monikas Henry of Randallstown, Maryland); 6 grandchildren: Brian (Nicole), Eboni (Thomas), Cleodora (Michael), Kymykya (Wendell), Latisha (Raven) and Xavier P; 16 great-grandchildren: Cylk Jackson, Alexia Harrell, Khloe’ Cage, Thomiya Haney, Na’Riyah Haney, Princess Haney, Prince Haney, A’Mori Haney, Michael Henry, Jr., DeSean Chatman, Dy’Nel Chatman, McKenzie Henry, Mickell Henry, Mason Henry, Reginald Hudson IV, and Zendaya Dorsey; 1 great-great-grandson: Kaine Armani Pratt.
