Elsie Catherine Woods, 86, of Edinburg, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Timberview Crossing. Elsie was born December 8, 1931 in Woodstock, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Charles Winnett Grove and Hattie Hinkle Grove. She was a member of Wesley Chapel Church, and a volunteer for Shenandoah Memorial Hospital for 15 years. Elsie, Hattie, and Gladys made rugs for Jerome Church. She was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys V. Miller; a brother, Calvin C. Grove; and husbands, Warren F. Shrum, Wray C. Buckley and Darrel Woods. Elsie is survived by a daughter, Carolyn M. Shrum and companion Ronald F. Dodson of Mount Jackson; a grandson, Robert L. Shrum and wife Sharon of Bunker Hill, WV; three great grandchildren, Robert L. Shrum II, Shelbi Maietta, and Deseree Hutson; and three great great grandchildren, Lincoln, Scarlett, and Giuliana Hutson. Friends may offer their respects at Valley Funeral Service Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. There will be a memorial luncheon Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 1 p.m. at St. Luke Parrish Hall. An internment service will follow in St. Luke Cemetery with the Rev. Elfie Finn- McKenzie.
