Douglas Edward Fletcher, age 62, Joplin, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2020 at his home with family at his side.
Doug was born December 13, 1957 in Kansas City, Missouri, son of the late Edward Ray Fletcher and Nancy Kay Harris Fletcher. He grew up in Arma, Kansas where he went to Arma High School. He served in the United States Army, and returned to this area where he held several jobs throughout his adult life, including Peerless, Leggett and Platt, Vinyl Flex, Butterball, and worked many years with Heckard Construction in their safety department.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Phillips Fletcher of the home; children, Mauricea Partridge (Joe) of Wichita, Kansas, Amanda Housdon of Wichita, Billy Miller (Becky) of Wellington, Kansas, Samantha Kraft (Josh Foley) of Nevada, Missouri, Richard Kraft (Nicole) of Independence, Kansas, Scott Miller of Norton, Kansas, Virginia Partridge (Jordon) of Wichita, and William Haney (Hainey) of Lawrence, Kansas; 11 grandchildren, Andrew, Zander, Zoe, Emily, William, Ivy, Alexander, Jaiden, Wyatt, Kimberly, and Hailey; brothers, Dennis Fletcher (Donna) of Frontenac, Kansas, Russell Fletcher of Weir, Kansas, Bruce Fletcher (Tracy) of Pittsburg, Kansas, Brian Fletcher (Becky) of Arma, Kansas; sisters, Brenda DaVee (George) of Pittsburg, and Terry Allen (Gene) of McCune, Kansas; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary, 602 S. Byers Ave, Joplin.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
