Marjorie B Kiloh Campbell, of Westwood, Kansas passed away peacefully at home, January 31, 2020.
She was the only daughter of Richard Omar and Lydia Bomar Truel. She was especially proud of being born on a farm (near Tecumseh, Oklahoma) obtained in the "The Great Oklahoma Land Rush of 1893" by her grandfather.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Kirk Kiloh, her son, Kirk Neusteter Kiloh, and granddaughter, Madeline Marjorie McDowell.
She leaves a daughter: Mary Anne (Stephen) McDowell of Kansas City, MO; stepdaughter: Dolores (Jeff) Streich of Waseca, MN, stepsons: Richard (Kathy) Campbell II of Baldwin, WI and Ronald (Fran) Campbell of Spotsylvania VA. Her grandchildren include Kiloh McDowell, Elizabeth Frank, Robert Campbell, Christine (Luke) Bock, Allison (Sean) Bryon, Shane Streich, Cole Streich, Richard Campbell III, and Krista Campbell great grandchildren, Olivia, Ashlee and Ethan and a great great granddaughter, Kristal.
Marjorie graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1936. During her high school summer vacations she stayed in Kansas City with her aunt and uncle, Orpha and Nathan Neusteter. Following graduation she moved to Kansas City where she met George and was married in 1940, he passed away in 1989.
She was remarried to one of George's fishing buddies, Richard Allen Campbell (formerly of Rochester MN) in 1990, and instantly became a grandma! She loved her grandchildren and delighted in caring for them both in Kansas City and in Walker MN, where they had a townhouse on Leech Lake. The "place at the lake" was where many memories were made and their combined families enjoyed getting to know each other. After her marriage to Richard, they enjoyed traveling the world and experiencing life together. Mom often said "Life is for the Living" so get on with it.
Marjorie was active in many organizations: Past Regent/member of The Shawnee Mission Chapter of DAR, Past President/lifetime member of the Shawnee Mission Soroptimist Club, Past President/member of (Former) Blue Spruce Garden Club of Shawnee Mission, Life Member of Kansas City St. Andrews Society. She enjoyed volunteering her time with the American Legion Auxiliary, formerly active in the Republican Party of Johnson County KS, and Westwood View PTA.
Marjorie became a member of the Village Presbyterian Church in Prairie Village, KS in 1974 and enjoyed fellowship with many there and especially loved the music at services and special events.
