Linda was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be more than missed by those who held her near including her four children: Richard Rock Wood, Kelly Wood both of Naples FL, Stacy Wood and Dawn (Mike) Harr of Springfield, IL, five grandchildren: Brandon (Brenda) Hauck, Shay Hauck, Lakyn Sanders, Jessica (Kyle) Fritsch, and Sarah Wood, four great-grandchildren: Michael Hauck, Brenna Hauck, Apollos Hauck, and Bradlee Stieghorst, one sister, Rosella Spreen of Jacksonville, IL., and several nieces, nephews and church family. Linda was most recently preceded in death by her loving siblings Opal Johnson, Leslie Anderson, Betty Rutherford and Lil Bailey.
Linda graduated from Illiopolis High School and operated her own hair salon out of their home for many years. Because Linda had made her relationship with the Lord a top priority in her life, she was most passionate about serving the Lord and did so by being a Sunday School Teacher at Grace Baptist Church, where she was an active member.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m followed by funeral services officiated by Pastor Thad Peacock at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Grace Baptist Church, 2812 South Walnut, Springfield, IL. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
