She was incredibly courageous, battling a rare brain cancer for four years. Her smile was infectious, and she loved to laugh, have fun, and dance. She was a very caring mother.
Julia is survived by her husband, Justin; children; father, Chris Cook of Pinckney; mother, Christine Gehringer (Tom Heiman) of Owendale; grandfather; Justin’s parents of Big Rapids; Justin’s sister, of Lansing; special aunt, of Webberville; and many other relatives and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by a son, Brennan.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday, August 30, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Rev. Betsy Kamphuis officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Hurst Funeral Home and Thursday from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at St. Lutheran Church prior to the funeral. Interment will be in Pinckney Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Julia’s honor may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
