Jay J. “Andy” Anderson, 94, passed away April 7, 2018, from complications of Parkinson’s disease. Jay was born October 18, 1923, to Levi Anderson and Mina Merelda Jones in Panaca, Nevada. Jay attended school in Mount Pleasant before joining the National Guard. He married Lorraine Price and they built their dream home on undeveloped land in the area known as Kanesville, now West Haven.

Jay was a hardworking, intelligent, caring man with a quick sense of humor. After his father’s death, Jay learned to farm, hunt, herd and ride from his loving step-father, Frank Seely, skills he passed on to all his children. Jay joined the Army Air Corp. A master mechanic, Jay served in the Pacific Theater during WWII as a mechanic and electrician eventually rising to the rank of Master Sergeant in the Air Force Reserve. At his retirement, Jay was the head of the electrical shop at Hill Air Force Base. He taught many people problem-solving skills that worked well for equipment and for life.

He is sorely missed by his family and mourned by all who knew him.

Jay is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lorraine; sister, Louise Seely; children: Sandra, Dana, Betty, Stacy, Kimberly and David; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; step-father; brother, Don Levi Anderson; and sisters: Rae Christensen, Augusta Bea Wright, and Joanne Dyer.
