He honorably served in the US Army during Vietnam and was commander of V.F.W.-Cleveland and worked with American Legion for many years. Roy enjoyed going to the beach and playing with his cats.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Lee and Francis Bishop; brothers, Robert Johnson and Bill Womack.
Survived by his wife, Susan Bishop; sons, Chris Bishop and Jeremy (Amber) Bishop; siblings, Darlene and Clyde Burnette, Ponzella Bankston; sister-in-law, Debbie McCann; 7 grandchildren, Chelsea, Matt, Haley, Colin, Makenzie, Cody, Baylee and 3 great grandchildren, Mya, Rowan and Anakin; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 from 5-9 PM at Companion Funeral Home-Cleveland, TN. A Graveside service will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery at a later date.
