Mrs. Ed S. Sloan, 73, highly esteemed native citizen, died at the family home in the Ridgeway community at 2 o'clock Wednesday morning. Mrs. Sloan had spent her entire life in and around Ridgeway.
She was born Lucy Finley, daughter of Ed and Polly Ann Kerbow Finley, on February 24, 1874. She was married to Ed S. Sloan in 1892.
A splendid Christian character, she had been a member of the Presbyterian Church for many years.
Immediate survivors include her husband, eight daughters, Mrs. Dessie Asbill, San Angelo; Mrs. Gertrude Hood, Shooks Chapel; Mrs. Shadie Burroughs, Arkadelphia, Arkansas; Mrs. Georgie Webb, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Mrs. Jodie Denton, city; Mrs. Lottie Adams, Ridgeway; Mrs. Ester Close, Ridgeway; and Mrs. Oleta Broyles, Branom.
A brother, Odie Finley, Wellington; a sister, Mrs. Ada Ross, Branom; 39 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Ridgeway Church at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon, with interment following in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Cumby.

Some records show her middle name as Louise but that is incorrect according to one of her daughters.
