Roger Holland Passes Away Saturday

BOONVILLE - Roger W. Holland, 82, of 308 Main St., died Saturday, Sept. 30, in the Rome Hospital where he had been a patient for the past week.

He was born in the Town of Western of Oct. 26, 1899, the son of William and Susan Rogers Holland. He operated Holland Homestead farm for many years where he raised turkeys and operated a dairy farm. He retired eight years ago.

He was twice married. His first wife, the former Marjorie Shoemaker, died 12 years ago. On Nov. 2, 1964, he married Grace Rogers Brownall in Boonville.

Mr. Holland was a member of the Westernville United Methodist Church and of its Board of Trustees, and a member of the Boonville Senior Citizens.

Surviving besides his wife, he leaves a step-daughter, Mrs. Clifford (Marjorie) Warcup of Westernville; a stepson, Arthur E. Brownell of Boonville; three stepgrandchildren and one stepgreat -grandson.

The funeral was at 11 am Tuesday at the Weternville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Smallman, pastor, and the Rev. (?) Pierce, pastor of the Boonville United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in the Westernville Cemetery.

Pall bearers were: Stuart Newey, Lloyd Warcup, Richard Smith, Ralph Smith, Donald Masnew and John Warcup.
